Job Summary

The DC Housing Authority seeks a highly skilled and experienced Senior Associate General Counsel to join its team. This role will provide critical support to the Office of the General Counsel, enabling the agency to respond effectively to the needs of the District of Columbia Housing Authority.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the drafting and review of new regulations implementing DCHA policies.
  • Draft, examine, and interpret Risk Management policies and procedures.
  • Provide expert legal advice to the Office of the Executive Director on legislation impacting DCHA.
  • Support the development of new policies under DCHA's Move to Work (MTW) authority for review by HUD.
  • Assist in the supervision and review of junior attorneys and support staff.
  • Coordinate outside counsel and provide legal review and compliance advice for complex real estate projects.
  • Draft, negotiate, and interpret contracts, corporate documents, and inter-District agreements.
Requirements
  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school and at least seven (7) years' related experience.
  • Admitted to the bar and in good standing in the District of Columbia.
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Outlook.
Working Conditions

The work is performed in a normal office setting, with occasional meetings, conferences, and court appearances.
