Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Police Officer to join our team at the University of Minnesota. As a Police Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for our students, staff, and faculty. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong communication and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patrol university property on foot, bicycle, or vehicle to prevent and respond to crimes and emergencies.
  • Enforce laws and regulations, issue citations, and make arrests as necessary.
  • Provide emergency medical assistance and respond to calls for service.
  • Collaborate with the university community to increase safety through education and outreach.
  • Participate in training and professional development to stay up-to-date on best practices and procedures.
Requirements
  • Must be eligible to be licensed as a peace officer by the Minnesota POST Board.
  • Must have a valid U.S. driver's license with a good driving record.
  • Must pass a pre-employment background investigation and a psychological exam.
  • Must be able to work a variety of shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
