Position Title:
Specialist I, Claims & Revenue

Under general supervision, this role is responsible for securing Federal and State funding for the DeKalb County Nutrition Program; overseeing daily cash deposits from school cafeterias to ensure proper fund management; and generating financial reports to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.

  • Creates reports to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Prepares monthly requests for reimbursement of federal funds.
  • Assists school nutrition managers in correcting and consolidating monthly financial documents.
  • Analyzes items and prepares adjusting journal entries for revenue accounts.
  • Conducts daily reconciliations of Client Access files.
  • Provides training for school nutrition managers and other personnel as needed.
  • Conducts annual reviews to ensure compliance with school system, state, and federal codes and regulations.
  • Offers staff support and supervision in the absence of management.
  • Verifies application and accuracy of state school lunch and verification processes.
  • Provides technical assistance to school nutrition managers.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required. An Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field from an accredited institution is preferred.
  • A minimum of three years of technical-level accounting, purchasing, or closely related experience is required.
