Marion Health is seeking a skilled Emergency Medical Technician to join our team. As a critical care specialist, you will provide basic life support at the scene of an accident or illness and during transport under the direction of the Paramedic and MH Emergency Services (EMS) protocols as approved by the EMS medical director and/or online medical control. This position can also provide basic life support care at the hospital under the direction of the Registered Nurse or provider. The ideal candidate will possess a current certification as a Certified Emergency Medical Technician by the Indiana Department of Homeland Security, Emergency Medical Service Commission, a valid driver's license, and a minimum of three years of satisfactory driving performance. Additionally, they will have current CPR certification and one year of healthcare experience. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, sufficient knowledge to observe and report changes in patient condition, and the ability to work well under stress. They will also be able to problem solve, multitask in a fast-paced setting, and work well in a team environment. The working conditions for this position include a typical emergency management clinical environment with frequent standing and walking, work that may be subject to interruptions, exposure to potentially violent situations, risk of occupational exposure to blood and other potentially infectious, electrical and radiation hazards, exposure to inclement weather conditions and hazardous traffic conditions, and the ability to work any shift, occasional extended hours, holidays, and/or weekends based on the needs of the department.
