Nursing Director

Sunrise Senior Living seeks a seasoned Nursing Director to lead our clinical team and promote the health and wellness of our residents. As a key member of our community leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of quality care services, ensuring regulatory compliance, and fostering a positive work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Health and Wellness: Develop and implement strategies to promote resident health and wellness, manage the nursing team, and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Clinical Care: Provide clinical care through direct application of the nursing process, perform and document resident assessments, and evaluate changes in care needs.
- Medication Management: Oversee the medication care program, provide training and education to nurses and medication care managers, and ensure resident safety in the medication use process.
- Quality Assurance and Regulatory Compliance: Track and report clinical quality data, participate in the Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement committee, and lead clinical quality and process improvement initiatives.
- Financial Management: Manage the department budget, process and submit monthly expenses and budget data, and understand the internal costs associated with Sunrise resident care programs.
- Training, Leadership, and Team Member Development: Partner with regional directors and executive directors in Sunrise University training and self-study programs, onboard new RCD leaders and department coordinators, and develop a working knowledge of state and provincial regulations.
Qualifications:
- Education: Graduate of an accredited college or school of nursing with a current state or provincial license as a professional Registered Nurse (RN).
- Experience: Minimum two years RN experience, with at least one year experience in home health, assisted living, or long-term care environment.
- Certifications: Certified in CPR and First Aid.
- Skills: Demonstrated knowledge of applied nursing practices, techniques, and methods, as well as infection control practices and prevention of disease transmission.
