Qualifications for Consideration:
Minimum Education:
- A Bachelor's degree in a scientific field from an accredited institution. A degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology is preferred.
- Alternative educational backgrounds will be considered in accordance with ASCP/AMT Board certification guidelines.
Experience:
- Completion of a NAACLS accredited MLS program or ABHES accredited MLT program within the last year can substitute for one year of full-time clinical experience.
Certification:
- Eligibility for ASCP or AMT Board certification relevant to the responsibilities, including MT, MLS, MLT, and others.
- Certification must be achieved within two years of employment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate effectively with team members to enhance job performance and foster a positive work environment.
- Ensure quality specimens for laboratory testing by identifying pre-analytical factors that may impact patient results.
- Operate systems and methodologies to deliver timely and accurate data for patients, quality control, and proficiency testing.
- Engage in departmental development by demonstrating operational knowledge and adhering to regulatory standards.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to support personal and team growth.
- Additional duties as assigned.
