Medical Laboratory Technician

Job Description:

The Medical Laboratory Technician plays a vital role in the diagnosis and treatment of disease by performing a variety of testing under the direction of a qualified Medical Technologist or Laboratory Scientist. This position requires a strong understanding of technical procedures, including quality control and result interpretation.

Responsibilities include direct patient contact through phlebotomy and therapeutic phlebotomy procedures, as well as supporting the Laboratory's Performance Improvement Programs to ensure quality and customer service standards are met.

The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, be willing to give and accept constructive criticism, and maintain a high-quality work standard. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

Requirements:
  • Completion of a clinical laboratory training program approved by the Health Education and Welfare Academic and Sciences Program or the Department of Health and Human Services
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Certification by the ASCP, AMT, or other comparable organization is preferred
Licenses and Certifications:

BLS certification is required
