Job Summary:

Laboratory Technicians at Eastman work under the direction of a staff member in an analytical, research, process and production support, or technical service laboratory. Responsibilities may include conducting technical experiments, leading and participating on multi-disciplinary teams, working with quality systems, and developing hands-on technical expertise.

Responsibilities:

  • Conducting technical experiments and projects
  • Leading and participating on multi-disciplinary teams
  • Working with quality systems or providing reports to governmental or regulatory agencies
  • Developing hands-on and in-depth technical expertise
  • Working in a fast-paced, results-oriented team environment to assist in developing new technologies to provide solutions to customers' needs
  • Preparing and supporting new or established technologies for commercial products and processes
  • Documenting experimental work and writing technical and invention reports
  • Working safely and promoting a safe work environment

Requirements:

  • Minimum of Associates Degree / Technical Diploma in a Scientific Field OR 4-year Degree in Scientific Field preferred
  • Completed mandatory chemistry/scientific courses: General Chemistry I & Lab, General Chemistry II & Lab, Organic Chemistry I & Lab, Organic Chemistry II & Lab, and Quantitative Analysis
  • Formal training in general laboratory procedures
  • Problem-solving, math, and science skills and familiarity with statistical methodology
  • Initiative and the ability to work in a team setting
  • Clear and effective written and oral communication
  • General computer experience with relevant and Microsoft software packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
