Job Title: Records Management Specialist

Mele Associates is seeking a highly skilled Records Management Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for providing technical support and expert knowledge on National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) guidelines and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement policies, guidelines, and requirements for the Records Management Program.
  • Maintain and preserve archived materials, and assist in developing and maintaining the records management program and updating records disposition schedules.
  • Work closely with the Records Manager on the DOE IN Records Management Program.
  • Ensure program compliance with federal regulations, including the Paperwork Reduction Act, the Privacy Act, and the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA).
  • Review and update records retention schedules to reflect current NARA requirements.
  • Develop training materials and serve as a point of contact for day-to-day records questions and guidance.
  • Analyze, organize, and interpret archival records or records systems.
  • Maintain the automated records management and FOIA tracking and monitoring system.
  • Process FOIA requests and conduct reviews on products in support of FOIA requests.
  • Obtain and maintain Derivative Classification Authority training.
  • Access and redact classified and sensitive information.
  • Identify potential problems and initiate corrective action.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a business-related field.
  • 2-3 years of records management experience.
  • DOE Q or DOD Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
  • Expert knowledge of records management processes and procedures.
  • Knowledge of NARA codes, regulations, and publications.
  • Knowledge of records management lifecycles, use, maintenance, and disposition of government information and records.
  • Experience working with classified material at the TS/SCI level.
  • Knowledge of classification management tools and techniques.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with tact and discretion.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in a business-related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in records management for the U.S. Intelligence Community.
