Apprentice Steamfitter Opportunity

The Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee for Plumbers & Steamfitters, Local Union #22, is seeking 15 skilled individuals to join their apprenticeship program as Steamfitters.

Program Overview

This apprenticeship program is designed to provide hands-on training and education in the trade of Steamfitting. Apprentices will work under the guidance of experienced professionals and learn the skills necessary to become a qualified Steamfitter.

Requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must provide a signed statement from a personal physician attesting to their ability to perform the duties of a Steamfitter
  • Must possess a valid NYS driver's license
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from job sites and required classes
Eligibility

Applicants must be residents of the following counties and/or townships:

  • Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Erie, Niagara, and Wyoming Counties
  • Genesee County - Alabama, Oakfield, Elba, Pembroke, Batavia, Darien, and Alexander townships
  • Orleans County - Yates, Ridgeway, and Shelby townships
  • Allegany County - Allen, Alma, Amity, Angelica, Belfast, Bolivar, Caneadea, Centerville, Clarksville, Cuba, Friendship, Genesee, Granger, Hume, New Hudson, Rushford, Scio, and Wirt townships
Selection Process

Applicants will be selected based on their qualifications and a drug test will be administered after selection and prior to enrollment in the apprenticeship program. Additionally, applicants must take and pass Work Keys Applied Mathematics, Workplace Documents, and Graphic Literacy Assessment tests with a minimum score of four in each category.
