About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Law Enforcement Officer to join our team at the Raleigh-Durham International Airport. As a member of our Airport Police Department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of our airport community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform law enforcement duties to ensure airport security in Airfield Operations Area, remote parking lots, and extended jurisdictions of airport property.
  • Patrol airports campus in vehicles or on foot, checking doors and windows and inspecting security doors, gates, and other areas.
  • Respond to calls for assistance, complaints, suspicious activity, disputes, and loud and disruptive behavior.
  • Respond to TSA screening staff and make determinations whether to detain or charge suspicious persons, preparing non-transferrable item reports.
  • Investigate traffic accidents, issue traffic citations, and direct traffic, participating in emergency operation activities.
  • Operate radar equipment to apprehend speeders and slow down traffic, apprehend and process criminal suspects.
  • Work with RDU Airport Fire-Rescue and Emergency Medical Technicians to provide medical care or crowd control services to sick or injured patients, providing a chain of custody if a body needs to be removed from RDU Airport.
Requirements
  • Education: High School diploma or equivalency.
  • Experience: Completion of the Basic Law Enforcement Training Course (BLET). Preferred: 1 or more years of experience in as a sworn Law Enforcement Officer.
  • Licenses or Certifications: Valid NC Driver's License.
