MCC is currently on the lookout for a Mechanical Assembly Specialist. The selected individual will be tasked with assembling and/or repairing products utilizing hand tools, power tools, and lifting equipment. As a key member of the assembly team, your duties will encompass interpreting engineering designs to construct products collaboratively and assisting in the quality assurance processes for the finished items.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Execute equipment assembly utilizing hand and power tools in accordance with engineering schematics, instructions, and established procedures.
  2. Conduct component installation, repair, inspection, reassembly, and adjustment of parts as necessary.
  3. Ensure thorough cleaning of all components following defined cleaning protocols.
  4. Perform precision calibration and advanced adjustments using specialized testing instruments.
  5. Carry out product testing and performance evaluations, documenting the outcomes.
  6. Conduct final inspections and adjustments to identify any defects, ensuring the delivery of high-quality products.
  7. Develop assembly and testing protocols to foster the production of superior products.
  8. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
  9. Operate heavy machinery and equipment as required in the execution of essential duties.
  10. Work in proximity to hazardous materials, at elevated heights, and within confined spaces as part of the job responsibilities.
  11. May require travel to various job sites during working hours; a valid driver's license and a driving record in compliance with company policy are necessary.
  12. Maintain a constant state of alertness and adhere to safety protocols.
  13. Regular attendance and punctuality are critical for effective job performance.
  14. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

  • Exposure to diverse outdoor conditions, high noise levels, dust, toxic substances, and varying fumes or odors; navigating slippery or uneven surfaces; and working in excavations.
  • Ability to work at heights, including on ladders, scaffolds, and rooftops, as well as in confined spaces beneath structures.
  • Must be capable of lifting up to 75 lbs.
  • Ability to perform manual and repetitive tasks, including prolonged standing or walking, bending, stooping, climbing, reaching, pulling, pushing, lifting, and carrying.
  • Adaptability to changing demands and priorities while completing job responsibilities efficiently.
  • Capacity to maintain focus and safety awareness over extended periods.

Safety Considerations

This role is classified as safety-sensitive due to the responsibilities involving vehicle operation, maintenance, and monitoring of heavy machinery, as well as handling hazardous materials, working at heights, and in confined spaces. A lapse in attention could lead to serious consequences. Therefore, the employee must maintain a high level of alertness and concentration while performing these duties.

Qualifications and Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with colleagues.
  • Proficiency in precise measurements and the ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering diagrams.
  • Experience with hand and power tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Good organizational and time management abilities.
  • Capability to complete daily tasks with minimal supervision and low error rates.
  • A current valid driver's license is required.
