Packaging Sales Professional

About the Role:
Sonoco is seeking a highly skilled Packaging Sales Professional to spearhead the expansion of our small-format custom thermoforming business. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for driving multimillion-dollar net profitable growth annually in the custom small-format thermoforming sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategically drive sales growth through robust multi-channel prospecting strategies and disciplined follow-up cadence.
- Onboard new clients seamlessly, fostering enduring relationships for sustained retention and growth.
- Effectively prioritize tasks to optimize both impact and productivity.
- Maintain comprehensive prospect files, including market share, quality and price benchmarks, specifications, key contacts, competitors, and more.
- Craft and execute action-driven account plans for top prospects.
- Cultivate and maintain multilevel contacts within all major current and potential accounts, extending network reach.
- Provide sales forecasts for products and customer segments to aid in the creation of sales budgets.
- Offer strategic insights to the marketing team to inform the development of strategic plans.
- Demonstrate proficiency with various technologies, including remote meeting platforms, Microsoft Office, CRM software (e.g., Salesforce), LinkedIn, Mintel, and Vidyard.
- Support division marketing efforts through participation in trade shows, conventions, and association meetings as needed.
- Contribute to the training and development of division sales and marketing staff.
- Ensure timely submission of expense reports, call reports, itineraries, and other required documentation.
- Safeguard company assets and confidential information, adhering to all legal and contractual obligations.
- Abide by all company policies and regulations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 8 years' experience in the packaging industry, with a deep understanding of market dynamics.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word is essential.
- Frequent travel required.
