Clinical Nutrition Specialist

Cleveland Clinic Lutheran Hospital is seeking a skilled Clinical Nutrition Specialist to join our team. As a Clinical Nutrition Specialist, you will provide expert medical nutrition therapy, education, and counseling to patients. Your primary responsibility will be to develop and implement personalized diet plans to help patients achieve their health goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized medical nutrition therapy, education, and counseling to patients
  • Develop and implement personalized diet plans
  • Communicate plans with healthcare team and establish follow-up system
  • Assess patients for nutritional deficiencies and evaluate fluids and electrolytes
  • Review laboratory and clinical progress notes and inform physicians of patients' nutritional status and need for diet changes

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in nutrition, dietetics, or related field
  • Current licensure to practice dietetics in the state
  • Active certification as a Registered Dietitian (RD)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum one year experience as a Registered Dietitian in clinical nutrition
  • Successful completion of a Dietetic Internship Program may substitute for experience requirement

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to navigate extensively to provide services to a large number of patients throughout the hospital
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to perform computer entry

Protective Equipment:

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required
