Respiratory Therapist II

Novant Health is seeking a full-time Registered Respiratory Therapist II (RRT) to join our team at Mint Hill Medical Center in Charlotte, NC. As a Respiratory Therapist II, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and serving as a leader on our healthcare team.
Our Respiratory Therapist II will have the opportunity to work with a high degree of autonomy, practicing under respiratory and ventilator management protocols. Depending on the facility, they may perform intubations and insert a-lines.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a High School Diploma or GED, as well as a 2-Year / Associate Degree. A 4-Year / Bachelor's Degree is preferred. You will also need to have Current RCP licensure in the appropriate state.
Responsibilities
As a Respiratory Therapist II, you will be responsible for acting as a patient advocate, incorporating education into the interdisciplinary care plan. You will prioritize job duties according to patients' needs and changing acuity levels, ensuring timely completion of care interventions, medical orders, etc. You will also administer and evaluate medication therapies, perform patient transfers, and transport patients. Additionally, you will be able to evaluate patient needs and provide appropriate routine respiratory care, as well as perform higher levels of care in critical care areas and emergent situations. You will demonstrate independence in the specialty of Respiratory Care, practicing according to state requirements and standards. In critical care areas, you will be responsible for ventilator management, code blue, airway management, interpretation and intervention with blood gas analysis, and use of all related protocols for patient care.
