Position Summary:
The Junior Insurance Administrative Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting the revenue cycle process, particularly in the insurance verification phase for patients requiring care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitates the authorization process by collaborating with payer case managers for timely service approvals.
- Records detailed information regarding authorizations, including start and end dates, utilizing the designated legacy systems and software applications.
- Secures additional pre-certifications as necessary and communicates with agencies regarding private insurance referrals.
- Acts as a key point of contact between branch locations and payers, ensuring consistent communication and updates.
- Efficiently accesses authorizations through various channels such as email, phone, and online applications.
- Addresses customer inquiries and concerns promptly and respectfully, striving for resolution.
- Independently troubleshoots issues before escalating to supervisors or managers.
- May perform eligibility checks and related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Open to candidates with diverse backgrounds, provided they are comfortable with technology; key attributes include strong customer service skills, reliability, and a willingness to learn.
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Minimal absenteeism expected during the initial training period.
