Job Summary
Under the guidance of the Program Director, the Faculty Member will engage in the development, execution, management, and assessment of the program's competencies, mission, objectives, and curriculum. Responsibilities include selecting candidates for program admission, evaluating program effectiveness, ensuring compliance with accreditation standards, creating course schedules, syllabi, and assessment methods, and fulfilling additional duties as assigned.

Essential Qualifications
* Master’s degree in Physician Assistant studies or a related medical field from an accredited institution; * Current NCCPA certification or equivalent medical certification; * Active state licensure as a Physician Assistant or in a related medical field; * Excellent verbal and written communication skills; * Strong organizational abilities.

Desirable Qualifications
* Doctoral degree in a medically relevant discipline; * Experience in higher education; * Teaching experience in both classroom and clinical environments; * Demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching and scholarly activities.

Key Responsibilities

Instructional Duties
Foster a supportive learning atmosphere for all students;

Instructional Duties
Deliver student instruction across various formats for Didactic Phase courses;

Assessment Duties
Evaluate student performance through diverse assessment methods during the Didactic Phase;

Support Duties
Provide remedial instruction for students identified as needing additional support during the Didactic Phase;

Assessment Duties
Assess student readiness for progression from the Didactic Phase to the Clinical Phase;

Assessment Duties
Evaluate student performance during the Clinical Phase Cumulative Assessment and readiness for the Summative Evaluation;

Assessment Duties
Assess student performance in the Summative Evaluation and readiness for graduation;

Instructional Duties
Teach pharmacology and pharmacotherapeutics to students;

Assessment Duties
Evaluate student performance in pharmacology and pharmacotherapeutics;

Support Duties
Provide academic counseling to students in pharmacology and pharmacotherapeutics;

Instructional Duties
Offer remedial instruction in pharmacology and pharmacotherapeutics;

Course Leadership
Serve as Course Director for one or more Didactic Phase courses;

Curriculum Development
Design and update course syllabi;

Guidance Duties
Advise Block Leaders, Principal Faculty, and Instructional Faculty on course learning outcomes, instructional objectives, content coverage, instructional delivery formats, and assessment methods;

Reporting Duties
Complete End-of-Course reports for assigned Didactic Phase courses and present findings based on data analysis to the Curriculum Committee;

Evaluation Duties
Participate in the design, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of the Didactic Phase Cumulative Assessment and the Summative Evaluation;

Student Support
Provide academic counseling to enrolled students;

Policy Review
Assist in the review and revision of the Student Handbook and Student Catalog as needed;

Self-Assessment
Engage in the Program's continuous self-assessment process as directed;

Accreditation Support
Assist the Program Director in preparing documentation for accreditation reviews as requested;

Committee Participation
Engage in various Program committees and LMU committees as assigned;

Mission Development
Contribute to the development, review, and revision of the Program's mission, goals, learning outcomes, and graduate competencies;

Curriculum Coordination
Participate in the design, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of the curriculum;

Program Management
Engage in Program organization, management, evaluation, and planning;

Applicant Selection
Assist in the selection of student applicants for program admission;

Professional Development
Explore opportunities to present curriculum developments at professional meetings;

Grant Opportunities
Consider grant opportunities to enhance the curriculum;

Continuous Learning
Maintain current knowledge in PA practice and relevant clinical concepts through various methods;

Research Opportunities
Pursue academic and research opportunities in the field;

Collaboration
Collaborate with other programs and institutions for research initiatives;

Research Support
Support ongoing research projects within the program and institution;
