Job Summary
The Assistant Professor of Marketing within the School of Business is responsible for delivering undergraduate and graduate coursework, engaging in research and creative endeavors, and participating in recruitment and service activities. This role is essential in fulfilling the mission of the university, school, and department.
Reporting Structure
This position reports to the Assistant Dean of Graduate Programs.
Essential Qualifications
A Ph.D. in Marketing or a closely related field from an accredited institution is required. Candidates should demonstrate effective teaching experience at both graduate and undergraduate levels, as well as experience serving on dissertation committees.
Preferred Qualifications
Evidence of impactful teaching and scholarly contributions is highly desirable. Candidates should have a proven track record as a committee member or chairperson for student dissertations and possess knowledge of both quantitative and qualitative research methodologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Advance the mission of Lincoln Memorial University among faculty, staff, students, and the broader community.
- Foster positive working relationships among faculty, staff, and students.
- Engage in university committee participation.
- Ensure the security of university files and adhere to privacy protocols.
- Maintain accurate records and procedures related to job responsibilities.
- Complete necessary reports for institutional and program accreditation.
- Support recruitment and growth initiatives for marketing programs.
- Serve on dissertation committees as a member or chairperson.
- Fulfill the standard workload expectations for instruction, research, and service.
- Provide academic advisement to students.
- Conduct a minimum of six in-person office hours weekly.
- Submit textbook requests as needed.
- Ensure compliance with standards set by accrediting bodies.
- Engage in professional development activities.
- Support the development and evaluation of the Strategic Plan related to academic programs.
- Mentor graduate students.
- Meet scholarship expectations through research, publication, and creative achievements.
- Participate in faculty evaluations and attend relevant meetings.
- Engage in community service opportunities.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
