Position Overview:

Chief Buildings is currently seeking skilled Fitter Welders for the night shift. This role involves performing GMAW tack welding, torch cutting, and layout processes to assemble steel components for final welding.

Qualifications:
  • Basic proficiency with hand tools such as tape measures, squares, and protractors.
  • Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and data sheets for accurate assembly.
  • Strong mathematical skills, particularly with fractions and decimals.
  • Basic welding skills, including cutting/plasma torch and grinding, are preferred but not mandatory.

  • Execute all tasks in a safe and efficient manner, utilizing required safety equipment and maintaining a tidy work environment. Report any unsafe conditions to supervisors.
  • Ensure compliance with all quality control procedures and standards.
  • Maximize productivity by completing assigned work efficiently.
  • Maintain qualifications in line with company-required AWS certifications.
  • Conduct layout, tack, and final assembly of steel frames.
  • Ability to lift and maneuver heavy components into position.
  • Thorough understanding of the capacities and proper operation of assigned equipment, including knowledge of relevant company and specific code welding standards and procedures.
  • Responsible for machine setup and routine maintenance of assigned machinery.
  • Capable of performing all operational processes, including final welding and material handling using cranes or forklifts.
  • Accurately complete all routine paperwork and computer data entry related to job responsibilities.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Shift Details:

2nd Shift: 7:30 PM - 6:00 AM
