Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Welder to join our team at the Steel Erectors Association. As a Welder, you will be responsible for producing high-quality steel components by loading and positioning materials into the weld fixture and welding them together following established methods and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performing GMAW (MIG) Welding on mild steel to ensure strong and durable joints.
  • Interpreting shop drawings accurately to layout dimensions and ensure precise fabrication.
  • Operating a cutting torch to cut and shape steel components as needed.
  • Occasionally using an ironworker for punching holes and shearing steel to meet project requirements.
  • Using a band saw when necessary to cut and shape steel components.
  • Operating a forklift to move materials and equipment safely and efficiently.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in reading a tape measure and basic calculations to ensure accurate measurements and fabrication.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in varied weather conditions and adapt to changing project requirements.
  • Capability to lift and handle heavy objects, at times exceeding 50 pounds, to meet project demands.
  • Experience in operating industrial machinery, including welders, cutting torches, plasma tables, band saws, ironworkers, and drills, to ensure efficient and safe fabrication.
