Job Summary

ASGCO Manufacturing, Inc. is seeking a skilled Band Saw Operator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the precision cutting of metal materials in a timely and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate Band Saws and Other Machinery: The Band Saw Operator will be responsible for operating band saws and other fabrication shop machinery as required to meet production demands.
  • Review and Interpret Work Instructions: The candidate must be able to accurately read and interpret written work instructions to ensure accuracy of cut orders.
  • Maintain Quality Control: The Band Saw Operator will be responsible for quality control of all jobs and orders, ensuring that all metal materials are cut to the highest standards.
  • Assist with Shop Maintenance: The candidate will assist with keeping the shop in an orderly and clean state, following all company safety procedures.
  • Operate Forklifts and Other Equipment: The Band Saw Operator may be required to move steel materials utilizing physical strength, forklifts, slings, and straps.
Requirements
  • Basic Math Skills: The candidate must have basic math skills to accurately read measuring devices and perform simple shop math.
  • Prioritize Workloads: The Band Saw Operator must be able to effectively prioritize workloads and use available resources within time constraints.
  • Experience with Band Saws: The candidate must have experience and/or previous training in operating a bandsaw.
  • Ability to Read and Interpret Documents: The Band Saw Operator must be able to read and interpret documents furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule forms.
  • Ability to Deal with Problems: The candidate must be able to deal with problems involving variables in standardized situations.
  • Knowledge of Metals: The Band Saw Operator must have thorough knowledge of various types of metals, their physical properties, and how to work with them.
  • Education and Certifications: The candidate must have a high school diploma or equivalent and meet all other job requirements.
Working Conditions
  • Regulated Noise and Cold Working Conditions: The Band Saw Operator will frequently be exposed to regulated noise and cold working conditions.
  • Overtime Requirements: The candidate may be required to work overtime on an as-needed basis.
