Position Overview:


We are in search of a Class A CDL Truck Operator to enhance our dedicated workforce. The ideal candidate will be a reliable delivery driver responsible for the timely distribution of research products to our clientele.

You will serve as a representative of our organization, ensuring professionalism, safety, and cost-effectiveness while striving to boost profitability and customer satisfaction.

Work Schedule:
Monday to Friday

Occasional backup for weekend overnight transfers may be required.

Delivery Route:
Primarily local routes, with occasional weekend overnight transfers.

Work Shift:
Early morning start time (approximately 3 AM).

Compensation:
$33.50 per hour plus comprehensive benefits within 30 days of employment.

Desired Skills:
Proficient in using smartphones and Outlook for regular communication

Ability to systematically organize and complete paperwork

Professional communication skills with leadership and warehouse teams

Comfortable handling animals and products

Experience with reefer operation and troubleshooting

Skilled in operating electric pallet jacks

Key Responsibilities:
Thoroughly understand and safely operate a company-assigned vehicle

Drive vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) exceeding 26,000 lbs

Undertake overnight trips as necessary

Adhere to all company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure the highest levels of Animal Welfare during transportation

Safely pick up and transport goods to their designated locations

Ensure that cargo is securely loaded to prevent damage or injury

Obtain necessary signatures to confirm and complete deliveries

Assist in planning driving routes

Maintain adherence to predetermined routes to ensure timely transport and delivery

Communicate with company personnel (supervisor) as required

Verify that shipment contents match the manifest document

Conduct vehicle inspections before and after each trip

Check weather conditions and road reports prior to departure

Keep the company vehicle clean at all times

Report any significant maintenance or delivery issues to management

Follow the delivery schedule and take appropriate rest breaks

Maintain detailed driving and delivery logs

Track and report working hours

Comply with company policies and regulations

Complete company training in a timely manner

Adhere to all applicable traffic laws and adjust driving according to weather and road conditions

Comply with ICC and DOT regulations

Prioritize safety at all times

Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of CDL driving experience

Successful completion of a motor vehicle driving record check

Able to follow detailed instructions and communicate effectively in English

Strong attention to detail

Excellent customer relations skills

Able to lift up to 70 lbs

Proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English

Availability for specialty runs during early hours or late starts as needed

*This position may be offered at various levels based on a combination of advanced education and/or years of experience. The salary range will be adjusted to align with the candidate's relevant experience and/or education level.
