Senior Revenue Cycle Analyst

Role Summary:
Under general supervision and adhering to established practices, policies, and guidelines, the incumbent will manage payment indexing and posting within Patient Financial Services. Responsibilities may include preparing, indexing, and posting payments, conducting daily reconciliations, processing payment transfers, reviewing and submitting claims to payors, and performing account follow-up activities. This role necessitates advanced expertise in specialized functions and a comprehensive understanding of the Revenue Cycle. Employees at this level are expected to work autonomously, demonstrating strong customer service, analytical, and problem-solving abilities, as well as the capacity to interpret and explain payor contracts and billing policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond independently and promptly to all inquiries, maintaining professional and courteous interactions with colleagues and customers.
- Possess a thorough understanding of medical terminology and coding, including ICD, CPT, HCPCS, procedure, bill type, diagnosis, and revenue codes.
- Demonstrate detailed knowledge of regulatory and organizational policies governing billing and collections.
- Effectively monitor assigned work queues, ensuring timely and accurate resolution of accounts.
- Adhere to departmental documentation standards and appropriately utilize activity codes.
- Accurately bill multispecialty claims within established timelines and engage in discussions with payors, patients, and departments.
- Understand payor contracts and their implications.
- Successfully complete relevant training programs.
- Analyze various bill types and their respective billing processes as necessary.
- Perform relevant mathematical calculations accurately.
- Exhibit proficiency in computer applications, including MS Office, Web/Vs, Emdeon, and CS-Link.
- Communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats.
- Maintain a professional demeanor and demonstrate attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Organize and prioritize work to complete assignments accurately and on time.
- Demonstrate typing skills of 40 to 45 wpm (preferred 45 to 50 wpm).
- Handle multiple tasks efficiently, prioritizing work to meet deadlines.
- Exhibit strong customer service skills and collaborate effectively with others.
Essential Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required; college-level coursework in Finance, Business, or Health Insurance preferred.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in hospital Revenue Cycle management is required.
- Experience in collections is highly preferred.
Proficiency in English, including speech, spelling, grammar, and basic math skills equivalent to high school level.
Ability to perform relevant mathematical calculations.
Computer competency, including a thorough understanding of MS Office, Web Vs, and Hospital Patient Financial Service Billing Applications such as Emdeon, Availity, and CS-Link.
In-depth knowledge of regulatory policies governing billing and collections.
Successful completion of relevant training programs.
