Position Overview

The Trauma Injury Prevention Coordinator plays a vital role in enhancing, supervising, and assessing the delivery of high-quality, safe, and cost-efficient healthcare by all members of the trauma team. This position is tasked with the coordination and integration of trauma service enhancement initiatives. The role adheres to County, State, and regulatory standards while being accountable for the development, promotion, and execution of injury prevention programs aligned with trauma center designation requirements.

Qualifications for the Role

Educational Background:

Minimum: Education acknowledged by the State of Florida as a prerequisite for Registered Nurse licensure.

Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.

Professional Experience:

Minimum: A minimum of four (4) years of clinical experience in an acute care setting, with a focus on Emergency, Critical Care, or Trauma care. Experience in Quality and Process Improvement is preferred.

Essential Certifications and Licenses:

  • Florida Registered Nurse license, along with American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications.
  • Preferred certifications include Critical Care, Emergency Nursing, and Case Management.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Comprehensive understanding of Joint Commission Standards, Quality Improvement Processes, and Risk Management.
  • Familiarity with Infection Control Surveillance and Universal Precautions.
  • Knowledge of Florida State Department of Health SATC/SAPTRC Approval Standards.
  • Awareness of Palm Beach County Health Care District Trauma Agency Mandates.
  • Active engagement in continuing education and professional organizations to stay updated on practices and regulatory changes.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and judgment when handling confidential information.
