Samaritas is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Child Welfare Case Manager to join our team. As a key member of our foster care team, you will be responsible for providing social work and case management services to assigned cases, ensuring the well-being and safety of children and families.
Key Responsibilities- Case Management: Provide a range of case management services, including social casework, engagement, mentoring, and community referral, to assigned cases.
- Data Collection and Documentation: Collect, assess, and document appropriate data and client progress, ensuring accurate and timely completion of documentation, reports, statistics, and assignments.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work collaboratively with referral sources, agencies, institutions, and individuals who have pertinent roles in client's life situation, ensuring effective communication and coordination of services.
- Court Hearings: Prepare for and attend all scheduled court hearings on assigned caseload, ensuring the best interests of children and families are represented.
- Intake and Placement Services: Take primary responsibility for intake and initial placement services for all newly referred cases, ensuring timely and effective placement arrangements.
- Supportive Casework: Provide more intensive supportive casework services to child, birth family, and caregiver during initial placement and replacement, ensuring the stability and well-being of children and families.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related human service field.
- Experience: One year experience in child welfare, preferred.
- Licensure/Certification: Licensed by the State of Michigan, preferred.
