Senior Claims Specialist Opportunity
American National is seeking a highly skilled Senior Claims Specialist to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our claims department, you will be responsible for handling complex property claims, conducting thorough investigations, and working closely with policyholders to ensure a fair and efficient claims process.
Key Responsibilities
- Investigate and evaluate property claims to determine the extent of the company's liability.
- Negotiate settlement of claims with policyholders, claimants, and attorneys to a fair and equitable resolution.
- Interpret policy coverage and determine if coverage applies to claims submitted, applying necessary conditions or exclusions.
- Work closely with underwriting, legal, and fraud prevention departments to resolve complex claims issues.
- Provide guidance and training to junior claims specialists and support staff.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in property claims or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of property insurance policy, coverage analysis, and claims adjustment.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Working knowledge of Xactimate or similar estimating programs.
- Currently hold an appropriate state adjuster license or obtain following date of hire (American National will incur fees associated).
- Understand coverage(s), including debris removal, trees, shrubs, plants, housing code upgrades, other structures, contents, and additional living expenses.
