Overview:
The Sanitation Lead will coordinate and lead the activities of the sanitation team to ensure the application of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and a sanitary environment necessary for the production of safe and high-quality food products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prioritize and assign daily sanitation tasks to ensure a clean and safe working environment.
- Verify the completion of daily sanitation tasks by sanitation and production associates to ensure compliance with GMPs.
- Develop and implement sanitation programs and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to prevent contamination and ensure a sanitary environment.
- Communicate and coordinate sanitation issues and activities within the department and among other departments to ensure a smooth operation.
- Ensure that sanitation chemicals, supplies, and tools are stocked and available to support sanitation activities.
- Assist in maintaining the Master Sanitation Schedule in an "audit-ready" state to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Develop and implement training programs for sanitation SOPs, including Train-the-Trainer programs, to ensure that all associates are properly trained.
- Assist in maintaining and enhancing the Chemical Control Program, including ordering, receiving, transporting, storing, inventory, labeling, and use of sanitation chemicals.
- Provide support for the plant Environmental Program, including initiating root cause analysis and documenting corrective actions taken in response to environmental issues related to sanitation.
- Recommend improvements to the Sanitation Program, Environmental Program, Pest Control Program, and other programs as appropriate to ensure a safe and sanitary working environment.
- Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives and projects to identify and implement process improvements.
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Three to five years of demonstrated experience in a food manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated experience in a leadership role preferred.
- Understanding of GMPs, SSOPs, and food safety and quality audits.
- Speak, read, and write English with proficiency.
- Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
- Forklift and Aerial Lift experience preferred.
- Computer proficient with experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
