About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Operations Intern to join our team at Target. As an Operations Intern, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in leading a team within a Target Supply Chain Facility. This paid 40-hour/week, hands-on training program is designed to develop and prepare you for an Operations Manager role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and support the execution of daily operations by working alongside team members.
  • Develop an understanding of how Target's supply chain business works and what it takes to excel in a management role.
  • Gain experience in problem-solving, leading and motivating a team, conducting real-time observations, and driving results.
  • Ensure safety is a top priority and that we are maximizing productivity to get products to the guest as fast as possible.
  • Participate in daily meetings, share pertinent company and site-specific information, and lead/present at daily planning meetings with peer/leadership team.
  • Plan daily goals and organize shift plans to achieve targets at start of shift.
  • Conduct audits around standard adherence with safety, quality, and productivity, and share feedback and coach team members on audit observations.
  • Conduct safety walks in the building to identify, resolve, and report findings.
  • Partner with leaders regarding team member performance by teaching, coaching, training, and delivering timely performance feedback.
  • Provide new ideas and recommend solutions for business or team opportunities.
  • Take the initiative to learn how to be a Target leader by seeking out opportunities for growth and development, and continuously learn throughout the internship experience.
About You

We are looking for individuals who are passionate about leading teams and driving results. If you have experience in leadership roles, strong communication skills, problem-solving skills, and a team-oriented mindset, we encourage you to apply. You should be able to access all levels and areas of the facility to respond to team member issues, understand instructions, reports, and information, and climb up and down ladders. You should also be able to scan, handle, and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including frequently lifting or moving merchandise up to 15 pounds and occasionally moving merchandise up to 40 pounds. A flexible work schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, is necessary for this role.
