Lead Mechanical Engineer in Metal Fabrication

Our client is a dynamic and rapidly growing manufacturer specializing in bespoke fixtures, furniture, and graphics. They collaborate with prominent global brands and are expanding their workforce to meet increasing demand. Their manufacturing processes are conducted in-house, focusing on sheet metal, tubing, wiring, powder coating, welding assembly, and wood operations.
Position Summary
- Leverage your expertise in metal fabrication, including welding and robotic welding, to address production challenges on the shop floor.
- Design innovative fixtures and jigs using SolidWorks.
- Lead continuous improvement efforts, identifying opportunities for efficiency and cost savings.
- Take a hands-on approach, setting an example for the team.
- Diagnose production issues and propose creative solutions to senior management.
- Assist in troubleshooting machinery programming; expertise is not mandatory.
- Engage with clients and conduct Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) assessments regularly.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a metal fabrication setting, with a preference for welding and sheet metal experience.
- Proficient in SolidWorks.
- Associate's degree or higher is required.
- A proactive, hands-on approach is essential.
- Experience with robotic welding is highly desirable but not a prerequisite.
- Background in fixture design, jig creation, and DFMA is beneficial.
- Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) is advantageous.
- Competitive base salary up to $120,000.
