Combined Metals of Chicago is seeking a skilled Furnace Operator to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for operating heavy machinery, preparing metal wires, and ensuring the highest quality products.
Key Responsibilities- Operate heavy machinery, including forklifts and overhead cranes, to move and process metal wires.
- Prepare metal wires by annealing and washing according to customer and manufacturing needs.
- Assist in the inspection and removal of defects in bulk product.
- Communicate effectively with manufacturing, quality, and other operations staff to discuss and escalate product or equipment issues.
- Maintain a safe and orderly work environment by removing scrap and other waste, checking machines, and identifying potential hazards.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to pass company mechanical test.
- Manufacturing experience preferred.
