Inventory Specialist

This role is responsible for performing cycle counts, compiling, and maintaining records of quantity, type, and value of material, equipment, merchandise, and/or supplies stocked in the distribution center and/or items to be returned. The successful candidate will research root causes for count discrepancies, perform quality checks, and support the product recall process. Additionally, they will provide support to all departments as needed and perform all work duties in a safe and efficient manner.
Key Responsibilities- Follow and complete daily cycle count schedule to ensure the integrity of the physical count of in-house inventory via cycle counting and other duties assigned
- Cycle counts the warehouse once per week and conducts full warehouse inventory at least once per year, including all pick and reserve slots for discrepancies and product/packaging integrity issues
- Supports product loss and damage program, and helps investigate causes of damage and loss
- Participates in recoup and disposition of damaged and distressed product, following program guidelines
- Performs quality checks around date-sensitive, slow-moving, and obsolete items via interaction with supply chain
- Researches causes of weight variances, receiving/put away/let down issues, and damaged product in the slots from warehouse moves
- Proactively checks First-in First-out (FIFO) items for proper rotation
- Confirms reserves are properly recorded and verifies the count of each reserve pallet
- Verifies the put-away and transfer process performed by the day and night personnel
- Initiates and documents product transfer from the cooler to the freezer
- Maintains housekeeping & sanitation expectations
- Meets and maintains safety, quality, and productivity standards
- Coordinates will-call orders when scheduled
- Other projects or duties as assigned
- 0-2 years of general administrative experience
- High School diploma or GED
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) applications
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Ability to eliminate distractions and to be able to concentrate and analyze during the counting process
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proven ability to multi-task effectively and produce accurate, timely results in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment
- Consistently demonstrates a positive approach, team-player attitude, and professional demeanor
- Ability to be productive working independently or as part of a team
- Willing to work any shift and any schedule due to our 24/7 environment
- This position must pass a post-offer background and drug test
- 1+ years of work experience in a distribution center environment is highly preferred
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems is preferred
