Position Summary

The Power & HVAC Load Bank Technician is responsible for the maintenance and repair of load banks, resistor racks, power distribution equipment, trailers, and low voltage cables. This role involves diagnosing intricate equipment issues while adhering to all safety protocols. The technician ensures that equipment is operational for rental clients, minimizing downtime through efficient methods. An expert in Sunbelt's load bank offerings, the Load Bank Technician is also capable of providing consultation and guidance to colleagues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducts major repairs and services on various equipment to ensure optimal functionality before leaving the workshop; disassembles and reassembles equipment as necessary; fabricates parts to meet shop and customer specifications; diagnoses complex mechanical issues.
  • Utilizes basic and advanced hand tools, metering devices, forklifts, pallet jacks, and other shop equipment.
  • Prepares and receives low and medium voltage cables, AC & DC load banks, generators, power distribution equipment, transformers, and trailers for rental purposes.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs small load banks, resistor racks, power distribution equipment, trailers, and low voltage cables.
  • Implements preventive maintenance strategies to reduce unnecessary repairs and field downtime.
  • Conducts safety inspections on all equipment.
  • Maintains a clean and safe working environment in the shop.
  • Provides training and mentorship to fellow mechanics involved in equipment repair and maintenance.
  • Evaluates the time and cost associated with repairs.
  • May specialize in specific types of small equipment within larger profit centers.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned by management.
  • Participates in all required training and manufacturing sessions.
  • Complies with all company, governmental, and equipment-related safety regulations.
  • Engages in all Profit Center Meetings.
