Job Summary:

The College of DuPage is seeking a skilled Custodian I to join our team. As a Custodian I, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our campus facilities. This is a full-time, 2nd shift position that requires a strong work ethic and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform housekeeping duties throughout all College buildings, including dry and wet mopping, stripping, waxing, and buffing floors, vacuuming and shampooing carpeting, and cleaning and waxing furniture and blinds.

• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of restrooms, locker rooms, and other areas of the campus.

• Operate various cleaning equipment, including vacuum cleaners, manual and automatic scrubbers, and shampooing equipment.

• Work collaboratively with other Custodial staff to ensure the efficient and effective completion of tasks.

Requirements:

• High school education and good communication skills preferred.

• Basic understanding of cleaning and the ability to be trained required.

• One year custodial experience preferred.

• Valid driver's license required.

Working Conditions:

• Work in a well-lighted and well-ventilated building with a variety of cleaning equipment and chemicals.

• May lift up to 50 lbs and work at heights using ladders or aerial lifts.

• Must pass a physical exam at College expense and undergo a background check and drug screen.
