Position Overview
HDR is seeking a Wastewater Sector Operations Leader to join our Water Business Group.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and direction for HDR's Wastewater initiatives under the guidance of the Water Business Group Manager.
- Oversee project management and collaborate with fellow Project Managers and team members to successfully deliver projects to our clients.
- Establish and nurture business development relationships with clients.
- Supervise the Wastewater section staff, including managing time and expense approvals, monitoring utilization, and conducting annual performance reviews.
- In partnership with Project Managers, oversee the financial management of Wastewater projects, ensuring adherence to schedules and budgets.
- Ensure excellence in project delivery for all Wastewater initiatives undertaken by the team.
- Provide engineering support and manage projects effectively.
- Collaborate closely with project engineers, engineers in training, and CAD/GIS professionals to execute planning-level projects, including reports and technical documentation.
- Work alongside other design disciplines to create integrated solutions and support business development efforts.
- Conduct quality assurance and quality control for both internal and external deliverables.
- Identify training needs for staff and provide training aligned with strategic objectives.
- Mentor team members to enhance their professional development.
- Offer technical expertise and support regarding engineering standards, regulations, best practices, and project management tools.
- Develop and assess project scope and fee proposals.
- Recruit and retain project managers, engineers, and CAD/GIS professionals.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Environmental, or related field).
- Idaho Professional Engineer license or the ability to obtain it within six months.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in Water/Wastewater projects.
- Experience in Project Engineering and Project Management.
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives and collaborate with clients on new projects.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, along with strong leadership and organizational abilities.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently as well as part of a team.
- A commitment to actively participating in our employee-owned culture.
- Master's degree.
- Experience in the Idaho market.
