Key Responsibilities- Installation and Maintenance: Install overfill protection valves, spill containment equipment, and other routine repair/compliance projects on underground fuel storage tanks.
- Construction and Repair: Pour concrete, remove concrete, install/uninstall fuel dispensers, and perform general laborer duties.
- Leadership and Supervision: Assist with simple paperwork and act as a leader to independently undertake a specific phase of work and assist others in the completion of that goal.
- Heavy Equipment Operation: Be able to spot and direct heavy equipment operators from the ground during excavation operations. The ability to operate small machinery, such as a skid steer loader or backhoe, is a plus.
- Job Site Maintenance: Help maintain a clean and organized job site per the foreman's direction.
- Safety and Compliance: Help maintain a safe job site - make sure all signs and safety barricades and devices are in place and wear the proper personal protective equipment for the task being performed.
- Inventory Management: Keep the job inventory organized per the foreman's directions.
- Communication and Planning: Communicate and look ahead to avoid problems and help plan.
- Professional Image: Present a professional image and maintain personal appearance.
- Valid Driver's License: Possess a valid driver's license and be able to safely operate a construction truck and trailer when needed.
- Basic Tools: Ability to use basic hand and power tools (tools provided).
- Physical Demands: Must be able to safely lift, carry, push or pull up to 50 pounds, stand, walk, stoop, kneel and sit, use hands, fingers, handle or feel and reach out with hands and arms extensively, climb stairs, ladders or sloped grades and walk on uneven terrain.
- Vision and Hearing: Ability to see up close and at a distance, and work outside in hot or cold or humid situations.
- Exposure to Hazards: Exposure to moving mechanical parts and/or machinery and excessive noise.
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Work Schedule: Ability to work 8-12 hours per day depending on work assignment.
- Paid Time Off/Holidays: Eligibility and waiting periods apply.
- Travel Related Expenses: Covered.
