Job Summary

The Construction Superintendent will oversee and coordinate daily construction activities in an active project setting to ensure the successful execution of project objectives. This role will work closely with the project director and/or project manager to develop execution strategies, schedules, and detailed plans to safely and efficiently execute project field work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage all on-site construction functions in accordance with established precedents, policies, procedures, systems, and requirements.
  • Demonstrate mastery in the construction project workflow and plan accordingly.
  • Identify risks that may jeopardize the project's timely or safe completion and mitigate risk.
  • Attend Project Coordination/Preconstruction Meetings and provide constructability input.
  • Review Bid Documents and Bid Review Documents to gain scope familiarity.
  • Participate in Pre-Bid Meetings and Post-Bid Interviews.
  • Coordinate and chair a project kickoff meeting prior to subcontractor mobilization.
  • General safety supervision and awareness with the support of safety specialists.
  • Responsible for managing project execution, including trade/vendor coordination & logistics, daily reports, development of project schedules, and site supervision and project coordination.
Requirements
  • At least 8 years of related construction management experience within heavy construction, preferably for a Construction Management, General Contracting, or trade contracting firm.
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field is a plus, but not required assuming a combination of relevant education and experience that is commensurate with the duties/responsibilities outlined.
  • Knowledge of building codes (IBC, NEC, ASME, UMC, NFPA, etc.) is highly desirable.
  • Trade certifications and licenses are desirable.
  • Proven track record of solid safety implementation and successful safety performance record.
