Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Aerial Construction Technician to join our team at Spectrum. As a key member of our construction crew, you will be responsible for building, repairing, and maintaining HFC plant and FTTH plant infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Construct and maintain HFC and FTTH plant infrastructure, including aerial and underground networks.
  • Work collaboratively with other technicians and contractors to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Perform complex installations of cable in underground and overhead environments, adhering to company specifications and industry standards.
  • Investigate and repair cut fiber optic cables or impairments, ensuring minimal downtime for customers.
  • Load and unload cable equipment and tools, maintaining a safe and organized work environment.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent work experience.
  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • 2+ years of construction work experience, preferably in the utility, electrical, or telecom industry.
  • Knowledge of traditional fiber architectures, fiber plant maintenance, and fusion splicers.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English, as well as use personal computers and software applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Commercial Driver License - Class A.
  • OSHA 10 certification.
  • Electrical training and NESC Communications 1910.268 certification.

Working Conditions:

  • Work indoors in confined spaces, outdoors in all weather conditions, and at various heights above ground.
  • Exposure to dust, dirt, noise, insects, rodents, pets, and cleaning solutions.
  • Mandatory travel on a weekly basis, as required.
