At Dexian, we are seeking a highly skilled Trademark Paralegal to join our team. As a Trademark Paralegal, you will be responsible for preparing, coordinating, and filing trademark applications, maintenance, and related forms at the USPTO. You will also instruct, manage, and work closely with local counsel and vendors on filing trademark applications, maintenance, and related forms outside the U.S.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and coordinate trademark applications, maintenance, and related forms at the USPTO.
  • Instruct and manage local counsel and vendors on filing trademark applications, maintenance, and related forms outside the U.S.
  • Handle all aspects of domestic and international trademark prosecution and portfolio management, including preparing various trademark filings, updating trademark office records, tracking, and managing docket deadlines and routine business partner reporting.
  • Communicate directly with local counsel regarding filings, status updates, and developments, deadlines, inquiries, and action items.
  • Create and maintain various charts and reports, coordinate and report watch notices, monitor third-party filings, and investigate potential enforcement targets.
  • Provide support for IP aspects of transactions, including supporting due diligence efforts, preparing agreement schedules, and recording chain of title updates.
  • Ensure the integrity of data in docket and files and maintain records in an organized manner.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree and minimum 3+ years of prior experience focusing on trademark prosecution, docketing, and portfolio management.
  • Proficiency in trademark laws both in and outside the U.S. and comfortable using trademark docketing platforms, knowledge management systems, and Microsoft Office programs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, timeliness, efficiency, responsiveness, and workload management.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced and high-volume practice, prioritize competing demands, and problem-solve creatively.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact and collaborate with colleagues at all levels in a professional manner.
