We are seeking a highly skilled Trademark Attorney to join our North American Brand Management practice at Baker McKenzie Tampa Center. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality support on trademark matters, including clearance, prosecution, and maintenance filings.
Main Responsibilities:
- Support the Firm's North American Brand Management practice on a range of trademark matters, including trademark clearance, prosecution, and maintenance filings.
- Assist with preparation of trademark applications and responses to Office Actions from trademark offices around the world.
- Prepare client reporting emails and assist with docket and deadline management.
- Oversee paralegals and other support staff in connection with recordal projects and other trademark prosecution tasks.
Requirements:
- 3 or more years of experience working in trademarks, focusing on assisting with trademark clearance, prosecution, and maintenance filings.
- Strong academic background with excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Florida bar admission preferred, must be in good standing.
- In-depth experience and knowledge of the TMEP and all rules and filing requirements for U.S. trademark matters.
- A high level understanding of filing requirements in other major jurisdictions.
- Experience reviewing trademark searches on major platforms and preparing trademark search reports.
- Experience in assessing the merits of and routine enforcement actions on U.S. dispute matters.
- Experience with trademark assignment/change of name recordal projects and due diligence projects.
Technical and Personal Skills:
- Attention to detail and high level of organizational skills are a must.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Positive team member and active contributor in a team environment.
- Ability to work with tight deadlines and manage own caseload.
- Excellent communication skills and high work standards.
- Flexible and efficient work practices with the ability to adapt style as required.
