Job Summary

Aperion Care Demotte is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Nursing to lead our Nursing Department. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the overall operation of our Nursing Department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure the highest quality of care for our residents.
  • Supervise and direct nursing staff to ensure that they are providing excellent care and meeting the needs of our residents.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless care coordination and communication.
  • Conduct regular rounds to ensure that nursing staff are performing their duties effectively and that residents are receiving the care they need.
  • Develop and implement quality assurance and quality improvement programs to ensure that our Nursing Department is meeting the highest standards of care.
  • Assist with infection control monitoring and ensure that our department is following all necessary protocols to prevent the spread of infection.
  • Review and revise nursing policies and procedures as needed to ensure that they are current and effective.
  • Develop and implement education and training programs for nursing staff to ensure that they have the skills and knowledge they need to provide excellent care.
  • Collaborate with the HR Director to develop and implement performance evaluations and disciplinary actions as needed.
Requirements
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience as a supervisor in a hospital, nursing care facility, or other related healthcare facility.
  • Must be a Registered Nurse with a current unencumbered state license.
  • Must have current CPR certification.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Must be a supportive team member and contribute to and be an example of teamwork and the team concept.
  • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
  • Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to nursing care facilities.
  • Must possess the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures that are necessary for providing quality care.
Physical Demands

The physical demands of this position are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

The employee must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday and cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position. The employee must meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of the facility, which include a medical and physical examination. The employee must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet. The employee may be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.
