We have openings for both full-time and part-time Registered Nurse positions, with available shifts during the day (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM) and night (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM). Each shift lasts 12 hours, with a schedule of 3 days per week, including rotating weekend shifts for full-time staff.
ORIENTATION AND TRAINING
Lakeview is dedicated to providing thorough training and ensuring safety. New hires will participate in a comprehensive 3-day orientation across the hospital, followed by 2 weeks of unit-specific training alongside a preceptor. We also offer shadowing opportunities for interested candidates.
Key Responsibilities of the Registered Nurse
- Deliver and coordinate patient care by evaluating both physical and behavioral health needs, developing and executing nursing care plans, maintaining accurate medical records, and educating patients and their families on various health conditions.
- Provide nursing services in accordance with the standards and scope of practice as defined by state regulations, policies, and facility protocols.
- Ensure clarity and accuracy of physician orders, especially when taken verbally, and transcribe them appropriately.
- Continuously assess patient status and document significant changes, promptly notifying physicians of any critical developments.
- Develop nursing treatment plans tailored to the assessed needs of patients, with initial plans completed upon admission.
- Exhibit knowledge of and adhere to universal precautions while providing direct patient care.
- Administer medications accurately as prescribed and maintain precise documentation of controlled substances.
- Efficiently manage admission and discharge processes as directed.
- Establish therapeutic relationships with patients by maintaining professional boundaries and providing focused attention while remaining detached when necessary.
- Guide or coordinate unit activities as needed.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, visitors, colleagues, and other stakeholders involved in patient care.
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program is required.
- A valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Georgia is mandatory.
- Prior experience in psychiatric nursing is highly desirable.
- CPR and de-escalation and restraint certifications are preferred (training provided upon hire).
- First Aid certification may be required based on state or facility guidelines.
