We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Packaging Operations Manager to join our team at the Boston Beer Company. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the Packaging Department in our 24/7 manufacturing facility.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement a strategy that links packaging operations' people, service, and cost initiatives to the company's strategic plan.
- Coach and develop a team of leaders to support a sizeable direct group of hourly co-workers.
- Ensure the correct management practices, metrics reviews, escalation procedures, and resources required to support daily operations and the success of long-term improvement plans.
- Identify and execute process improvements related to safety, line stoppages, customer service levels, staffing, fill rates, inventory levels, capacity planning and utilization, and packaging accuracy.
- Ten or more years' experience in a manufacturing/packaging environment.
- Extensive practical experience with high-speed bottling/packaging operations in food/beverage industries.
- An in-depth understanding and track record of delivering operational processes that drive safety, quality, cost, and delivery improvements.
- Proven success in managing a team, safety records, and operational issues.
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion, with proven experience in delivery against critical KPIs.
- Lean manufacturing experience as it relates to Packaging/Production.
- Demonstrated project/idea development skills.
- Solid financial aptitude and experience managing a budget.
- Ability to work 12-hour days, weekends, and holidays.
