We are seeking a dedicated Massage Therapy Educator for our institution. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive background in Massage Therapy and a passion for imparting knowledge to aspiring professionals in the field.
No previous teaching experience is necessary
Preferred candidates will be actively engaged in the practice or instruction of massage therapy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver established curriculum and lesson plans to students with professionalism and expertise.
- Review syllabus requirements with students at the beginning of each term.
- Address student inquiries promptly to ensure comprehension and completion of coursework.
- Educate students on safety protocols and monitor adherence to procedures.
- Exhibit professionalism in the classroom and mentor students on professional conduct.
- Manage and resolve classroom issues as they arise.
- Oversee all classroom activities, including lectures, student support, and practical instruction.
- Monitor student attendance and address any attendance-related concerns.
- Document student attendance, grades, and interactions in a timely manner.
- Collect assignments from a percentage of students to meet accreditation standards.
- Participate in ongoing training to enhance teaching methods and stay current in the field.
- Collaborate with the Program Supervisor to address student concerns that may impact retention.
- Guide students on educational matters and provide necessary support.
- Prepare the lab environment for instructional activities, including equipment setup.
- Identify and initiate student support plans as needed.
- Assist in maintaining quality equipment and tools for educational use.
- Ensure the safety of clients and students during practical sessions and report any issues as necessary.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Foster industry-specific community relationships to secure guest speakers and assist students in job placement.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
This role involves light physical activity, occasionally lifting up to 20 pounds and frequently lifting up to 10 pounds. Instruction may require standing for extended periods, effectively communicating complex topics, and demonstrating various massage techniques. The educator will not be significantly exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
Qualifications:
Education: Completion of an accredited massage therapy program and possession of an active massage therapy license.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years (4,000 hours) in massage therapy or a related field.
Licenses/Certifications: Valid massage therapy license and insurance.
