We are currently in search of a Behavior Support Specialist II to join our Day Services program.

As a Behavior Support Specialist, you will:
- Evaluate, design, and oversee behavior support strategies tailored to our clients.
- Conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments upon referral to behavior support services.
- Deliver ongoing training to staff in accordance with our Behavior Management Policies.
This is a Full-Time position (40 hours per week) from Monday to Friday, with no evening, weekend, or holiday shifts. We offer a competitive compensation package ranging from $22.40 to $24.00 per hour, along with comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance, generous paid time off, and a supportive work-life balance.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:
- A Master’s degree in Behavior Analysis or a closely related field approved by OPWDD, along with National Board Certification in Behavior Analysis (BCBA),
- OR a Master’s degree in a clinical or treatment field such as psychology or social work, a New York State license in Mental Health Counseling, and relevant OPWDD-approved training or experience in behavior support plan development.
- OR a Master’s degree in a clinical treatment field and experience in Psychologist I or II roles within New York State.
- OR a Bachelor’s degree in a human services field with continuous experience in providing behavioral services since a specified date, while actively pursuing a Master’s degree in a relevant area.
Position Overview:
The Behavior Support Specialist II is responsible for:
- Conducting comprehensive assessments and developing behavior support plans that emphasize proactive strategies for managing challenging behaviors.
- Participating in interdisciplinary meetings to provide insights on individuals requiring behavior support.
- Training staff on the implementation of behavior plans and ensuring adherence to best practices.
- Monitoring and adjusting behavior plans based on ongoing assessments and feedback.
- Collaborating with psychiatrists and other professionals to ensure comprehensive care for individuals.
