The Arc Erie County New York is seeking a skilled Behavior Intervention Technician to join our team. As a Behavior Intervention Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with disabilities and their families in achieving their desired quality of life.

Job Summary:

The Behavior Intervention Technician will assist with the behavioral services provided to individuals within our Residential, Day Habilitation, and Education Programs. This includes assessment, development, and monitoring of behavior support plans, as well as providing direct supervision to individuals and staff members.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement behavior support plans to manage individuals with challenging behaviors
  • Provide direct supervision to individuals and staff members, ensuring their safety and well-being
  • Assist with data collection and documentation to inform behavior plans and make necessary changes
  • Collaborate with Behavior Intervention Specialists, Coordinators of Behavior Services, and School Psychologists to ensure continuity of care
  • Provide training and support to staff members on behavior support plans and strategies
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Psychology or related field, or equivalent experience
  • One year of experience working with individuals with disabilities, or similar population
  • Two years of experience managing individuals with problem behaviors in a school or professional setting
  • First Aid Certification, CPR, and Strategies for Crisis Intervention and Prevention-Revised training (SCIP) required
