Job Summary

The Undergraduate Academic Advisor provides expert guidance and support to first and second-year students, helping them achieve academic success and reach their full potential. This role involves developing meaningful relationships with students, providing personalized advice, and connecting them with relevant resources and opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality academic advising services to students, including goal setting, academic planning, and career exploration.
  • Develop and maintain accurate and detailed advising notes, tracking student progress and performance.
  • Cultivate supportive communication with students, using a range of methods including phone, email, and face-to-face interactions.
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and other stakeholders to ensure students receive comprehensive support and guidance.
  • Stay up-to-date with advisement theories and practices, using this knowledge to inform and improve advising services.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, with 3 years' experience in education or a related field.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours, as required.
