Job Overview

Position: Purchasing Clerk

Company: Amada America, Inc.

Role Summary: The Purchasing Clerk collaborates with planners and buyers within the Purchasing Department to generate or modify Purchase Orders using the Syteline ERP system. This role involves liaising with suppliers to communicate Requests for Quotes and manage Purchase Order placements, as well as addressing any discrepancies that may arise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize computer navigation skills to manage files and documents efficiently.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in basic software applications including Windows, Edge, Chrome, Gmail, Excel, and Word.
  • Execute accurate data entry tasks, including typing and numeric 10-key operations.
  • Sort and distribute incoming mail for the Purchasing Department.
  • Create and manage Purchase Order documents within SAP and Infor/Syteline systems.
  • Engage with vendors to address inquiries, manage purchases, and coordinate deliveries.
  • Update Purchase Orders with revised delivery dates and costs as necessary.
  • Match vendor invoices with Packing Slips and Purchase Orders, ensuring accuracy.
  • Collaborate with Buyers and vendors to resolve discrepancies and correct records.
  • Process transactions for invoice payments in SAP and Infor/Syteline systems, forwarding necessary documents to the Accounting Department.
  • Assist Buyers in expediting pending purchases and coordinating with end users.
  • Maintain logs and update computer files on a daily basis.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Prepare special reports as required.
  • Participate in the company’s physical inventory process.
  • Occasionally run local errands.

Reporting Structure:

  • Reports to: Manager - Purchasing/Warehouse

Qualifications:

  • Preferred: Two years of experience in Purchasing.

Skills Required:

  • Detail-oriented with a strong emphasis on accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational capabilities.
  • Proficient in computer applications including Gmail, Excel, and Word.
  • Familiarity with SAP and Infor/Syteline systems is preferred.

Compensation: $22.50 per hour

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Travel Requirements: Minimal to no travel expected.

Additional Abilities:

  • Ability to follow instructions effectively.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with team members.

Working Conditions:
Lifting: Average weight of 15 lbs, frequency: daily.
