Job Summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to lead our electrical engineering team in the design, modification, and analysis of high voltage substations. As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing project teams, coordinating with stakeholders, and ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage project teams, including engineers, designers, and estimators, to deliver high voltage substation projects on time and within budget.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders, including clients, civil, structural, and transmission line teams, to ensure project requirements are met.
  • Develop and manage project scopes, schedules, and budgets, and ensure compliance with engineering standards and client requirements.
  • Lead efforts to ensure projects are completed with high quality, on time performance, and within budget.
  • Identify and track potential out of scope work, develop and provide scope changes, and coordinate with the client for approval.
  • Collaborate with staff both locally and nationwide to ensure project success.
  • Prepare reports and studies that present technical information in a clear and concise manner, and meet client requirements and Sargent & Lundy formats.
  • Perform reviews of work performed by others, including calculations, drawings, reports, material and construction specifications, procurement specifications.
  • Communicate directly with clients, providing both project support and overall account support.
  • Support the company in business development opportunities with existing and potential clients.
  • Develop and mentor team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Seven or more years of experience in project management of high voltage utility type projects.
  • Knowledge of engineering standards, including NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEC, IEEE, and ANSI.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in cost allocation and control, estimating, proposal preparation, risk assessment programs, and techniques.
  • PMP certification a plus.
