Position Overview

Role Summary:

As an Opto-Mechanical Assembly Specialist, you will be responsible for assembling complex opto-mechanical systems following detailed manufacturing documentation, including assembly instructions and process guidelines, utilizing various hand tools, measuring instruments, and testing equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Construct opto-mechanical assemblies by interpreting assembly drawings and adhering to established procedures.
  • Utilize assembly and inspection tools such as torque wrenches, micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and dial indicators.
  • Assist in the optical alignment and evaluation of optical systems.
  • Record actions by completing necessary checklists.
  • Ensure a safe and organized work environment by following all procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Prepare work order material kits based on printed bills of material (BOM).
  • Perform general maintenance of the laboratory as required.
Qualifications:
  • Applicants must be U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, legal permanent residents, asylees, refugees, or eligible to obtain the necessary export control license from the U.S. Departments of State or Commerce.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant assembly experience is required.
  • Ability to interpret complex assembly drawings and process instructions.
  • Self-sufficient worker, capable of operating with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting mechanical issues.
  • Experience with standard hand tools, including allen wrenches, screwdrivers, and torque wrenches.
  • Familiarity with computer applications relevant to manufacturing processes.
  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic focused on quality and attention to detail.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively to promote a positive team environment.
