Job Summary

We are seeking a Quality Assurance Supervisor to assist the QA Manager in leading the plant in assessing food quality and safety. The successful candidate will provide quality and food safety leadership to QA Lab Analysts and participate in projects with the QA Manager.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the hiring, training, and development of QA analysts.
  • Receive, troubleshoot, and monitor all new formula releases, including reviewing and implementing processing procedures.
  • Monitor initial dressing production runs by assisting R&D and processing.
  • Assist in resolving non-conformance issues and quality problems at the plant, working with plant management to develop corrective action plans.
  • Perform monthly GMP audits of the plant's food safety and quality program.
  • Serve as a key technical resource in the plant and as a liaison between corporate R&D, Tech Services, and plant operations.
  • Advise the plant on quality and food safety implications of changes in product, processing, or facility design.
  • Review and submit monthly customer reports.
  • Review and evaluate production samples needing approval from customers.
  • Dispose of product/ingredients on hold.
  • Write weekly schedules for all employees on the shift.
  • Review completed QA paperwork and communicate needed corrections to analysts.
  • Assist in preparing and presenting information for internal, third-party, customer, and state/federal audits.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, microbiology, or food science preferred.
  • Three plus years of experience in quality assurance in a food-related industry.
  • Must be able to lead projects and people, motivate associates, and proactively anticipate and address issues.
Working Conditions

The Quality Assurance Supervisor will work in a laboratory and manufacturing environment, regularly standing, walking, climbing, crouching, reaching, and bending while moving about the facility. Some lifting of moderately heavy items is required, as well as exposure to moving machines and hazardous testing and sanitation chemicals.
